Cleveland Hopkins Airport


The airport is located 10 miles (16km) southwest of Cleveland. The ride to downtown takes from 10 to 20-minute. What is the airport code? CLE This airport serves the Cleveland metropolitan area. The airport handles 600 domestic and foreign departures and arrivals daily The airport has a main terminal with four concourses (A, B, C, and D). The airport has 3 runways. The runways are from 6000 feet to 9000 feet in length. The airport began operations in 1925 as the first municipal airport in the United States. The airport was officially named Cleveland Hopkins Airport after airport founder William R. Hopkins on his 82nd birthday, July 26, 1951. From downtown Cleveland, take the I-90 for 3km (2 miles) and take the 170B exit, continuing south on the I-71. Bearing right, continue southwest onto Berea Freeway, keeping right onto the ramp before turning west onto Terminal Drive. From Terminal Drive, bear left onto Park Road, then right onto Jackson Road and again onto South Terminal Road, which is the access road for the airport. For the hourly garage the first 30 minutes are free, with $3 for the next 30 minutes and $3 per hour after that. For long term garage parking the daily maximum rates is $10. Facilities at the airport include fast-food restaurants, coffee shops and bars, situated on the ticketing level and concourses. Passengers may chose from restaurants at more than thirty locations throughout the airport. CLE restaurants range from names like Starbucks, Ben & Jerry's and Max & Erma's, to tastes of local Cleveland like the Cleveland Fruit & Nut Company or Café Connection. An interfaith chapel is located at the airport beyond the Concourse B security checkpoint (across from the food court). The chapel is open seven days per week from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (EST). The chapel welcomes people of all beliefs. A Catholic mass is conducted every Saturday at 4:00 p.m. (EST) and every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (EST). There are two play areas for kids at Hartsfield which include TVs, board games, and video games. Tran Land is located in Concourse C gate #7 and Dusty Den is on concourse A gate 32. There is no emergency room at the airport but the airport's certified paramedics are available to respond to any emergency, twenty-four hours per day, and can provide emergency care with advanced life support equipment. CLE has equipped the terminal and all concourses with life-saving portable heart defibrillators. The easy-to-use defibrillators are strategically placed throughout the airport and offer quick access in the event of a heart attack.
